AH Junior Golf Academy wins 2 Awards!

On Tuesday 31st January The Cyprus Sports Association held the Annual Junior Sports Awards for 2011 at the Olympic House in Nicosia.

For the first time in the history of the Cyprus Sports Association 2 awards were presented for junior golf. Andrew Darker, Golf Operations Manager at Aphrodite Hills and the Junior Golf Director for the Cyprus Golf Federation submitted entries on behalf of the Federation and 2 juniors were accepted. The criteria for selection of the awards are based on the junior’s outstanding achievements in their Sport and we are pleased to announce that the 2 winners for golf both represent the Aphrodite Hills Junior Academy.

Pavlos Efstathiou and Glafkie Christodoulides received their awards in front of a packed Olympic House with over 250 officials from various Federations and K.O.A in attendance. Both Pavlos and Glafkie had an outstanding year in 2011, winning several events and they both finished the year at the top of the junior rankings.

Aphrodite Hills congratulates them both with their remarkable achievements and wish them a more successful season in 2012. “The Cyprus Golf Federation will also be sending a boy and girl representative to the R&A Junior Open to be held in July in England. If both Pavlos and Glafkie continue their good form and improvement over the coming months they stand a good chance of selection to represent Cyprus in one of the biggest International Junior tournaments. I wish them both good luck for the start of 2012” added Andrew Darker.
