Real Estate Sales Soar at Aphrodite Hills

Aphrodite Hills Real Estate team did very well with sales for the first half of the year, despite the economic recession all over Europe. In total and until June 2012, the Real Estate team managed to accomplish double the sales of last year. The reason for this is a combination of the incentives given by the Government from the beginning of the year, plus the very special offers that the company has introduced. Mostly however, this is due to the luxury and unique product we have available and the trusted name of Lanitis Development.”

“Available properties at Aphrodite Hills Resort include a combination of all products, ranging from ready Villas and Apartments, plots, to custom builds and of course, Alexander Heights - the jewel of Aphrodite Hills, with its Apartments, Junior Villas and detached Villas boasting the most exceptional views. The company is not stopping there either; it is in the process of designing a new Golf Resort within the undulating countryside of Aphrodite Hills. This will comprise of approx. 600 properties on more than 1,400,000 m2 of land. The project is approximately 15 minutes from Aphrodite Hills, in a superb location and is surrounded by a stunning green area.”

George Elias continues, “The first half of 2012 was an excellent year for sales at Aphrodite Hills. The Russian and English markets still remain our main markets, but still we are trying to look ahead to the future. We are now trying to penetrate the Chinese market; a unique market that offers great opportunities but also great challenges. At Aphrodite Hills we succeed in offering the exclusive combination of a luxurious product, special packages and the experience of a lifetime.”

Kazantip Republic Beach Party Cyprus

The Kazantip Republic started out in 1992 as a small windsurfing competition that grew into something bigger, better, and more extreme. Who wants to sit on the beach in silence? Not these guys - that’s for sure. Out came the vinyls and the sound system… and a beach party republic was born.

Now in its 20th year, Kazantip is a month-long beach party with up to 100,000 attendees. Featuring DJ’s, musicians, performers, dancers and of course, kite surfing and windsurfing competitions.

This year, as a prelude to the real Kazantip in the Ukraine, we are pleased to announce the creation of the Kazantip Embassy of Cyprus, which will be hosting a three-day event in July (13th - 15th). This has been organised to support the official Kazantip Republic and will be an ongoing, yearly event taking place in Limassol, Cyprus.

An impressive line-up of both international and local DJ’s will play non-stop music, to keep party-goers in the mood. Accompanying this, there will be kite surfing and windsurfing competitions and a Fashion Show by famed international designers. The event aims to encompass all areas of people’s interest and imagination, whilst communicating to the population the fascinating world of the Kazantip Republic.

Based between two Limassol locations (Drops Club and Mazotos Beach) and with three days of non-stop activities, it is shaping up to be one of the most prolific festivals the island has ever undertaken.

Tips for the courts from Annabel Croft

Wimbledon is now well and truly underway and the sight of the lush green grass and the players’ white clothing makes Wimbledon the special tournament that it is. Therefore, this month’s Newsletter is ‘A Wimbledon Special’!! To learn more about the world’s most prestigious tournament and to find out how you can improve your game with us here at the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy, Aphrodite Hills - read on! Enjoy!
How to Play Tennis on a Grass Court:
A grass tennis court is the least common tennis surface because of its maintenance demands, yet the most recognizable tennis court - Center Court at Wimbledon - is of course, a grass court. Grass courts play faster than hard courts and are much faster than clay. There is distinct strategy you can use to improve your grass tennis court game.

Use the serve-and-volley technique. To serve-and-volley, make a powerful serve and then immediately go to the net to attack your opponents return. If you serve well and your opponent has to return defensively, you should be able to make a low-bouncing, fast-moving volley shot that should win you the point, or at least give you control over the point.

Hit flat shots, which cause the ball to move faster and help you have control of the point, as opposed to higher bouncing or loftier shots.

Make your strokes short and compact. This will put you in position to make offensive shots on the low-bouncing, fast-moving balls on a grass court, instead of having to play defensively.

Position your hits toward the open court and approach the net when possible. Getting your opponent moving back and forth on grass will give you a decided advantage and being close while your opponent is running, will make you nearly unstoppable.
Tips & Warnings:
Grass courts get worn down easily so the court will constantly be changing. The changing surface will affect your footing and how the ball bounces, so you always need to be alert about where you are and from where the ball is bouncing.
