Aphrodite Hills Personal trainer wins award!

Have you heard? Timmis has been awarded again! For those who haven’t yet heard, we proudly announce that our Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, Timmis Kampanelis has been voted Number One Personal Trainer by ‘Wellbeing Escapes’ and awarded with a Certificate of Excellence for outstanding services in the field of personal training at Aphrodite Hills Resort! Bravo! ‘Wellbeing Escapes’ is the leading Spa & Wellness Holiday Company in the UK and their opinion is of vital importance to us.

Their clients already know about Timmis and are giving the most positive feedback. Everyone who has ever been trained by Timmis has left Aphrodite Hills Resort lighter, fitter, healthier and of course happier! Wouldn’t you like to feel the same?

At The Retreat Spa, Timmis is always ready to help you if you are struggling to lose weight, want to tone your body, or even to gain muscle mass. Don’t worry if exercising with weights is too boring for you. Timmis introduces his clients to Functional Training, which will definitely take your breath away.
Functional Training - is a high intensity strength training. Such training is the most productive, safe and time efficient approach available. The purpose of strength training is to increase strength and lean body mass. Functional Training is multi-functional i.e. you train many muscles groups at the same time and burn a lot of extra calories in less time. Timmis also trains his clients with Power Plate. He mixes Power Plate and Functional Training together in order to get quicker results. The vibration of Power Plate helps your body to send signals to the brain and nerves for muscle to contract. Training on a Power Plate is 3 times more effective than weight exercises for weight loss and muscle toning!
However, to get the best results we need to combine exercising with diet. Food is fuel for your body. Food nutrition is a key element in maintaining our overall physical wellbeing.
  • Vegetables - so low in calories that it is very difficult to gain weight even if you overeat on them. Eat vegetables every day to get a supply of vitamins every day. They are high in dietary fibre, which is critical for our health.
  • Whole Grains - are an essential part of a healthy diet. All types of grains are good sources of complex carbohydrates and some key vitamins and minerals, naturally low in fat and lower the risk of heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers and other health problems.
  • Fruits - are sources of many essential nutrients that are under-consumed, including potassium, dietary fibre, vitamin C, and folate (folic acid). Most fruits are naturally low in fat, sodium and calories. None have cholesterol.
  • Healthy Protein - builds, maintains and replaces the tissues in your body. Choose fish, poultry, beans and nuts but limit red meat, avoid bacon, cold cuts and other processed meats.

If you have any concerns about exercising, dieting, or what foods to eat, you can always consult Timmis at The Retreat Spa. He is not only the best Personal Trainer; he is also a Nutrition Consultant!

New Year BetterBall Results

Saturday 12th January was the starting point for the Aphrodite Hills Golf annual tournaments of 2013. We kicked off this year with the New Year Betterball.

After a few days of cold and rain and with a forecast promising nothing better, luck was really on our side as the weather cleared - not a drop of rain fell and the temperature of 18 degrees made pretty good golfing conditions.

The early starters took advantage of the conditions (although they disagree there was any advantage!), with one pair returning a score of 39 points. They hung on to the lead all day to take the title of ‘New Year Betterball Winners’. Congratulations to the husband and wife pairing of John & Linda O’Neill (in picture).

Top five pairings as shown in the results below:

Pos. Name Total F+B
1 O`NEIL, John/O`NEILL, Linda 39 18:21
2 POPOV, Alexey/POPOVA, Irina 38 17:21
3 PANAYIDES, Paris/MONTAGUE 37 19:18
4 WEST-BLANC, Oscar/BASTOS, Nuno 36 15:21
5 LANITIS, Marios/LANITIS, Plato 36 16:20

Extension of the ‘abolition of transfer fees’ for a further 12 months

Until now, Cyprus law has always stated that for every sale of a property and the transfer of the Title Deed, fees of up to 8% must be paid by the Purchaser during the transfer procedure.

However, the Government of Cyprus has recently announced the abolition of transfer fees for any new property purchases until the end of 2013 and irrespective of the time the Title Deed of the property will be transferred to the Buyer.

Additionally, a new attractive tax incentive has been introduced, specifically for the acquisition of new private residences at the reduced VAT rate of 5%.

The Cyprus Government also approved the reduction of the VAT rate on the acquisition and/or construction of a property, which is used as a primary and permanent place of residence in Cyprus. In relation to these extremely beneficial announcements, Lanitis Development has also decided to offer up to 40% off the original asking price of a select number of properties at Aphrodite Hills Resort. Therefore, the combination of the abolition of the transfer fees and the reduction of VAT - plus the advantageous discount on the purchase price, gives you the opportunity to buy a property at the luxurious, award-winning 5-star Aphrodite Hills Resort, at a substantially reduced price.

Now is the perfect time to buy a new property at Aphrodite Hills.
