Demetris is from Patra in Greece and was originally an electrician. When he joined the army, he took charge of the army canteen. His talent for pastry was soon to be discovered. 11 years ago, he came to Cyprus to study in ‘Gurmant” school and to cultivate his passion for chocolate and Sugar Art design. Demetris joined the Apollonia Hotel and then Le Meridien. Now at Aphrodite Hills InterContinental Hotel, he is working closely with Head Chef, Kyriakos Panayiotou. Demetris started creating the most incredible and unique chocolate designs; the ‘sweet man’ as we now call him, is without a doubt, one of the best Pastry Chefs on the island. Not only does he have a passion for sweets, cakes and pastry, but he loves to spend his spare time with his family and his beautiful little boy, who is only 4 months old. This Christmas, Demetris promises to exceed our expectations with unique sweet creations that will excite both young and old fans alike.
